When we're gone...long gone
The only thing that will have mattered
Is the love that we shared
And the way that we cared...

Where have I been?
To the deepest part of me-
As far as memories would let me see.
I saw the little girl
Playing childhood games.
Riding swings, a bike and running
With friends of other names.
She danced at high school dances
Even flirted with a boy or two.
I saw the girl become a woman
And felt her heart get broken too.
I journeyed from the past until the present
Finding bits and pieces thought long gone.
Not enjoying everything I saw but...
Found more right than wrong.

Where am I going?
Heaven only knows where that may be.
I travel between the past and present
The future isn't ours to know or see.
Looking back quite objectively
I never made goals like others.
The best thing I've accomplished
Is being a Mom and Grandmother.
I've always been a dreamer
And each day another dream's begun.
But dreamers live in misty stardust
All alone not needing anyone.
I drift among the clouds reminiscing
Of dreams that have come true.
And I know as long as I'm still here
My dreams will never be through.
Dreaming gives us hope
And faith to begin anew
Some dreams bring back loved ones
And some take me back to you.
So... Each day I go along
Wherever my dreams take me.
Loving friends and family
As I walk toward eternity.
