What Do You See?

Look at me
Tell me what you see.
Do you see me as I am
Or do you think I’m just a sham?

For you.... I'm baring all
Willing to take a fall.
For you.... no nonsense,
No need for pretense.

My life is an open book,
All you have to do is look.
My heart is fragile and afraid,
It's been hurt, broken and betrayed.

I come before you a woman lost,
With love that's been beaten and tossed.
Left with nothing to share
But a body and soul that's left bare.

Please, take a good look inside,
I can't take another merry-go-round ride.
I won't ever ask much from you,
As long as you’re honest and true.

I can no longer pretend,
I'm trying hard to transcend.
I need you to love me for me
And not what you think I should be.
