Lately I’ve realized
I've got an addiction.
I write about my life
In utter contradiction.

When I'm alone.. I write
In words that I can rhyme
So I sometimes exaggerate
About what’s happening at the time.

I say that I’m an open book,
But don’t believe all that I speak.
If you read between the lines
You’ll see I write with tongue in cheek.

What I tell you is the truth,
I just hold back a little bit.
If I wrote my whole life’s story
No-one would believe it.

Now…… about this addiction-
I like to dream about stars in the night,
Castles in the sky, rainbows, carousels,
And dancing beneath the moonlight.

I guess I’ll keep on dreaming
Until the day I die.
And the dreams I love the most
Are the ones of you and I.
