Day by day, Year by year...My missing you gets stronger.
I can't count the times I've needed you...Even tho I'm not a child any longer.
I Love you Mom... more, day by day.
Joanne

I need
to make a long distance call, but
the operator snarled at me
when I didn't know the
country,state,or city area code
and my friends-and-family cell phone
mocked me by writing
"out of calling area" on it's screen.
I need
to send an important letter,but
the postoffice clerk screamed "next"
when I didn't have
an address or zip code
and my new laptop
locked me out, sending a haughty
"you need an e-mail address" message.
I need to hitch a ride on
Harry Potter's magical broom,
click my ruby slippers
three or even six times,
wiggle my nose
like Samantha, the television witch,
tumble with Alice
through the hole in Wonderland,
creep beyond the wardrobe
into the lion's Narnia,
turn the key
that opens the secret garden.
I need
to find a way
to reach my mother.
I need
one more hug
or at least her assurance
that she's okay in death.
I need
to reach my mother
so I can finally
rest in peace.
