"Do ye hear the children weeping, O my brothers, Ere the sorrow comes with years?
They are leaning their young heads against their mothers...
And that cannot stop their tears "
Elizabeth Barrett Browning

She sits, all alone with her thoughts,
It doesn't matter if it's day or night.
Her world is always dark,
Happiness just out of sight.
She feels lost, alone and tired.,
Much to tired for a girl her age.
Much to lonely for one so young,
She feels trapped.... in a cage.
What kind of hell has she lived,
What dark secrets does she hold?
What has an innocent child gone through
To feel so lonely and old?
She holds it all inside and to others
Shows only a happy face,
But, alone, with her thoughts
She ends up in that dark lonely place.
If only I could let her know
Someone hears her cry.
That I have seen the darkness too
And I have lived with that same lie.
My darlin' child, so lost and lonely,
Reach out to those who love you!
Don't be afraid to let them know you're hurting.
Some of us have been there and felt the way you do.
Life isn't fair and sometimes it's even cruel.
It's not easy to overcome the past.
Hold on - Don't give up hope!
One day the darkness will disappear
And the sun will shine at last.
